Statement Regarding Recent Allegations Involving Former Employee
May 15, 2026
New Jersey Respiratory is aware of the arrest of one of our employees following allegations of patient abuse at a healthcare facility we service. We are shocked and deeply troubled by the nature of these allegations and the impact this incident may have had on the patient and their loved ones. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.
The conduct described by law enforcement is deeply disturbing and wholly inconsistent with the standards of care, professionalism, dignity, and compassion expected of any member of our organization. In our 43 years of serving patients, we have never before experienced a situation in which an employee was arrested in connection with allegations of patient abuse, making this incident profoundly upsetting to our entire organization.
Immediately upon becoming aware of the allegations and reviewing the information available to us, the employee was suspended and the State Board of Respiratory Care was notified. Following the employee’s arrest, his employment with New Jersey Respiratory was terminated. We have been cooperating fully with law enforcement and all appropriate regulatory authorities.
At New Jersey Respiratory, patient safety and the respectful treatment of every individual under our care remain our highest priorities. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward abuse, neglect, or any conduct that compromises patient well-being.
We remain committed to supporting the investigative process and taking any further actions deemed appropriate based on the findings.
